Free VoIP Service – Are They True

Free VoIP Service – Are They True

When Voice over Internet Protocol was introduced through the Internet, a lot of the programs available are given free Voice over Internet Protocol services. Unluckily, those great days are gone and these days, these services are not free; but are still given at a minimal monthly charge.

However, after you have decided to buy this service, you would still be astonished with the advantages and benefits that VOIP gives. Your calls are limitless and you are able to call long distance numbers at free of charge, but you have to settle the low fee.

Don’t be concerned though as there are software that give free VOIP services, among them are Skype and AdCalls. These 2 programs allow you to call making use of the free Voice over Internet Protocol programming.

Skype enables you to make a computer to computer call to Skype users making use of a microphone and a headphone. All you must do is to get free Skype software on their site. This free call is only accessible for a computer to computer call and the individual you need to contact will have to get the software as well. If you need to call somebody on their telephone and get a call from them, you would have to buy their credits at a cheap price.

With AdCalls, you could make calls to anybody in the Canada and USA at anytime on their business, home, and cellular phone for free. You are able to call anybody in the world as well on their computer given that they also got the “AdCalls” dialer that could be seen on their site.

Even as a lot of individuals are selecting to use this service, it has its annoyances, one being the failure to call 911. The explanation for this is that the dial is made from your network instead of a telephone. This makes it not possible for 911 to track your call from the Voice over Internet Protocol phone and to know your address. When getting your 911 calls, it is not possible for the dispatcher to get any info on your location.

VOIP is fast increasing popularity and huge corporations like AOL and Verizon are all giving Voice over Internet Protocol packages. Free VoIP is the popular selection, though these days it is getting harder to find one. For consumers who aren’t prepared or who feel not comfortable w/ going to VoIP, they have the choice of utilizing IM or instant messaging services, for example YM or Yahoo Messenger.

Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 ERP manufacturing module streamlines manufacturing operations

Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 ERP manufacturing module streamlines manufacturing operations

As opposed to its original intended design as an accounting software, the Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 have advanced into a dynamic ERP software with robust manufacturing functionalities. With its broad selection of features and functionalities, it has served many businesses involved in manufacturing in the small and mid-market class. To gain a better perception of its manufacturing capabilities, it is recommended to fully understand the benefits and the advantages of each module and how they systematize the manufacturing process.

Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200, being an ERP software, takes pride in their powerful manufacturing module with extensive functions alongside with three of the most crucial components in the manufacturing stage, the Work Order Processing, Material Requirements Planning also known as MRP, and lastly Bill of Materials which is also known as BOM.

In addition, the three are not the only modules inside the manufacturing management module product; it also incorporates Sales Order, Purchase Order as well as Inventory Management. These modules will provide automatic functions related to manufacturing management without the need for you, the manufacturing manager, to do manually.

The three fundamental modules of an ERP manufacturing software are:

1. Material Requirements Planning – Throughout all stages in the manufacturing process, it is actually MRP that requires a lot of time. This particular stage has to be carefully planned in order to generate an efficient manufacturing process and also to avoid problems in the process. Lack of materials can cause stoppage in the process and may actually damage the project causing more expenses, utilizing Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200’s MRP, purchase scheduling turns into efficient and successful planning which gives streamlined outcomes. MRP informs managers what materials are needed, when they are needed and how many are required. This allows you to have sufficient availability of materials on hand.

2. Bill of Materials – a list of materials must go through various levels of processing before coming up with a finished good. By using BOM, managers will know precisely what kinds of materials are necessary to be able to come up a finished product. Manufacturing managers will be advised with detailed billing reports, production track record along with material requirements. In conclusion, Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 Bill of Materials informs what are the materials needed to produce the finished item.

3. Work Order – is the primary element involved in the Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 manufacturing module. Using Work Order you can track down manufacturing progression status in real time, make work schedules, generate work orders and even keeping track of work costs and much more. WO may integrate easily with different modules in order to make a robust ERP software.

In developing a finished product, it takes a detailed list including the quantities of materials to be used for instance raw materials, intermediate assemblies, sub-assemblies, sub-components, components, and other parts. Aided by the BOM of Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200, manufacturing managers are provided with precise and descriptive reports concerning billing, material requirements and production record. The bottom line is, with BOM, you are aware of exactly what you must have to create your end product.

In addition, there are three more modules which make up the whole manufacturing management solution of Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200. So that you could achieve a powerful manufacturing and distribution system, supervisors should have an efficient inventory procedure that can be made possible with the Inventory Management module. This is yet another very important element in manufacturing management; inefficient inventory system can easily cease your manufacturing operations, causes delivery and shipping delays, over and under stocking can impact your financial statements, and forces you to miss sales opportunities.

In the case that you happen to be running out of the stocks, the Purchase Order (PO) module generates purchase orders automatically to ensure you will have sufficient stocks on hand. Additionally, it maintains an accurate documentation of your transactions and executes various other important tasks. Sales Order (SO) module makes it easy for managers to keep an information about their clients, find out where to ship or mail the shipments as well as keep transaction reports. With SO, you will be aware of details on credit card deposits, the pricing of your items, costing, credit limits of your clients, and many more.

One of the best advantages of an ERP manufacturing software such as Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 is their automation capabilities for numerous manufacturing functions. Purchasing and sales order processing definitely will end up being more efficient. When there are sales orders, the Purchase Order module instantly produces purchase orders. Every module integrates with each other.

The bottom line is, with the manufacturing module of Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 things will be easier for you. You will get detailed information in all your business operations, transactions, histories, resources, costing, pricing, and instead of doing things manually, the software will do everything for you. There are a lot of things to say about what these great ERP manufacturing software are capable of, they have to be tested and used to be fully understood, assessed and appreciated. In recent times, thousands of corporations within the manufacturing industry have testified and credited Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 as one of the contributors to their growth.

Crystal Reports for SQL Based ERP Systems SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics

Crystal Reports for SQL Based ERP Systems SAP Business One, Microsoft Dynamics

SQL Server opens new horizons in Crystal Reports design and deployment. Here you can separate the report presentation from data selection layer. Instead of linking tables directly in CR you can now create SQL View or Stored Procedure and test their results prior to opening Crystal Reports Designer. Talking about specific Corporate or Small Business ERP platform – here you need to know table structure in order to produce SQL View. In this small publication we would like to give you two examples: SAP Business One and Microsoft Dynamics. Let’s begin with advantages of SQL View and Stored Procedure as report data pulling:

1.SQL View. Let’s assume that you do not want to do select statement test directly in Crystal and would like to avoid such annoying issues as duplicate rows and incorrect summaries. Plus you would like to use such constructions as SQL Union. And in addition to that you do not want to create the whole report and then potentially realize that it doesn’t work as expected and you would have to redo tables linking and redesign pretty much the whole report. Then what you may decide to do is create SQL View and test its results in SQL Server Management Studio

2.Stored Procedure. CR is treating final Select statement or Union as its base. Stored Procedure parameters are translated into Crystal parameters. What are the advantages of Stored Procedure? Well in SP you are not restricted to just sophisticated joins in Select statement or Union. Here you can use parameters, temporary tables, data update (be cautious do not compromise data integrity!). It is also possible to use Exec statement and build Select statement on the fly analyzing the set of parameters. You can also use SQL cursors especially in building temporary tables. Stored Procedure could give you the advantage of better performance comparing to the view as here Crystal doesn’t have to apply restrictions to the total View selection and all the job are done in high performance SQL Server. Let’s now move on to SAP B1 tables and fields

3.SAP Business One. If you are not doing long term programming project in Software Development Kit then there is no need to install it and review tables diagram from there. We recommend you just login SB1 user workstation and in menu mark View -> System Information. Let’s now assume that your custom report will need to pull the fields from Sales Invoice. Open Sales invoice form and place the cursor over the field in question. Table and field name information will be displayed in the bottom left corner of the user interface. Some comments before you begin your SQL View or Stored Procedure creation. SAP BO is three tiers Small Business ERP application. This means that direct data update via custom SQL statements will be detected by Watch Dog service and transmitted to SAP. Consider just data selection and try to avoid updates on the SQL Stored Procedure level

4.Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM Family. There are several products where direct select from SQL Server database is OK. Among them GP (formerly known as Great Plains), NAV (former Navision), SL (originally Solomon) and CRM. In the case of Dynamics AX Axapta direct access to SQL Server is not recommended and instead you should consider X++ code and such development tool as MorphX. Microsoft actually is trying deemphasize Crystal Reports and rather recommend SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

5.Financial Reporting where Crystal is not recommended. General Ledger is tightly connected with Accounting theory and double entry. If you need to produce Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss Statement or Statement of Cash flow including consolidated versions please consider such tools as Microsoft Management Reporter or its predecessor FRx. If you decide to recreate P&L directly in Crystal you should expect to reproduce most of FRx business logic and this is in our opinion not a feasible idea

What is a Two Tier ERP

What is a Two Tier ERP

We’ve discussed “What is ERP?”, but now its time to take a look at two tier ERPs, and some of the benefits that NetSuite offers for those looking for a two tier approach.

A two tier ERP is a concept or approach that is generally used in larger organizations. Oftentimes, larger organizations have multiple lines of business and / or multiple companies running independent from each other. These companies, most likely, have different target customer segments, different inventory product requirements, and may be serving unique geographical markets. Each line of business, when looked at from their perspective, must be able to take care of their own business requirements. However, this may not serve the interest of a corporate parent who wants to be able to consolidate results of its subsidiaries as well as have some level of governance.

Two tier systems often make sense to the management because they want to be able to act quickly while producing some level of autonomy for each subsidiary. I am a strong believer of a single instance architecture. But I am realistic. It may be next to impossible to achieve this depending on the situation. Here are some criteria where Two Tier may make sense: -The parent ERP is too complex to adopt for a small business unit. -The cost is prohibitive for the smaller business unit to own the parent ERP. -Certain local or regional regulatory requirements can not be met. -Key functionality is missing from the parent ERP.

NetSuite works to have an offer for organizations that face these challenges. In some respects, the NetSuite OneWorld product is seeking to be the Parent ERP. Of course, it is all one system and it works very well if the criteria noted above is met. At the same time, NetSuite is pitching to larger companies to be part of a two tier structure; not as the main ERP but as a sub ERP.

NetSuite has recently won some major clients that are two tiered. For example, see these articles: -Qualcomm -Olympus (video) -Torstar Digital

At the same time, they have a great success story with OneWorld acting as a single instance for GroupOn.

The reality is that as companies grow, so do their demanding requirements. Today, there are very few business management systems that can truly make a Single Instance offer. The choices really open up if you go Two Tier. But make no mistake, you will require a major investment to integrate, train people, and maintain these systems on an ongoing basis. NetSuite’s technical architecture makes it pretty easy to integrate with; but it will require work. Two-tier has become much easier due to integration platforms, such as Boomi or Mulesoft.

Finally, two tier ERP is different from Best of Breed often adopted by smaller organizations who aren’t holding the entire consequence of a fragmented technical architecture. Please see my article, “Best-of-Breed Business Systems: Traps & Lies”. The same considerations apply for two-tier ERP. Ideally, get the entire business, on a single instance. If the boundary is a subsidiary, then so be it.
