Best Wireless Security Cameras For Small Business-the Top Two

Best Wireless Security Cameras For Small Business-the Top Two

Did you know that well over 30 percent of all new jobs are created by small businesses? That is more than any other sector of the economy. That is why I say that small businesses are the engine that drives our economy. I have the utmost respect for small business owners. They have so much invested in their business and not just money either.

Unfortunately many people see small businesses as an opportunity to steal. Employees and customers account for 70 percent of all business losses in any given year. That’s a huge amount of money.

When I was in the restaurant business I used to tell everyone that the only people who stole from you were your employees, your customers and your suppliers. Everyone else was honest. That holds true for any kind of business.

The best way to stop theft is to get rid of the bad apples that you have in your employ. And for any small business owner that thinks all of his employees are honest is very naive.

The best way to get rid of the bad apples is to have a wireless security camera. Here are the two best as picked out by my customers over the last five years.

1. The first is exit sign hidden camera. This can be placed over any retail, office or warehouse doorway and is real functioning exit sign. It is available in wired or wireless models. But the best one is with the DVR included. This model uses an 8 GB SD card to record images similar to your digital camera.

2. The down view smoke detector is a no-functioning smoke detector and cannot be used as a safety product but is meant to be mounted on the ceiling and look down. It has many different applications in the retail world. The best example of that would be over cash register or over a rear door. If you own a restaurant, place it over your cold storage area or in your dry goods area. You can transmit black-and-white or color images and can be either wired or wireless. It is the second most popular hidden security camera.

Those are the two most popular wireless security cameras for small business.

When are you getting one?

If you think crime can only happen to the other guy you are wrong. The “other guy” is thinking the same thing and to him you are that “other guy”. There is a reason why they call it self defense. You have to protect yourself, your family, your home and business!!

Chances are if you are reading this that crime has touched your life in some way or you consider yourself at risk. Take the next step and do something to protect yourself! Your life and safety is worth far more than the cost of one of these.

The uses for a covert hidden camera are endless. There are home, office and business applications. Undercover law enforcers and government agencies have been using them for years but now they are priced so low that anyone can get one. And easy to use? You bet.

A covert hidden spy camera can be an even better deterrent than a burglar alarm or a security guard. A camera can be used to identify the bad guys catching them red handed indoors or outdoors.

Can you use a spy hidden camera for home, office or business? You actually can’t afford to not have one!

Cash Drawers and Receipt Printers for a Profitable Business

Cash Drawers and Receipt Printers for a Profitable Business

If you have a store or any other business where a lot of cash transactions take place, cash drawers are very much needed. When we are standing in a queue at a store, we expect them to serve us in the minimum possible time. How does it feel when someone takes a few seconds searching for a note of particular denomination? You can save your customers from that feeling by using effective drawer to hold cash. They help you find change quickly and to keep it well sorted. It is one good way to keep your customers happy.

Of course, having a secure cash drawer is important. Most of the cash drawers are designed with a good quality lock system and are made of durable material. Once you install them you can be free for many years because they don’t wear out so soon. If your usage is full time an there are customers present almost every minute of the day with continuous transactions, you can buy a heavy duty drawer which is more durable and can withstand continuous sliding. Otherwise, you can just go for a regular cash drawer. Though most of them come with only 2 year warranty but they can last for many more years if handled well.

Another thing that you will need is receipt printers to print the details of payment for the customer. When you go out buying a receipt printer, you will come across a variety of options. There are different types of printers available in the market and you need to know which one will suit your requirements best. Cost is also one consideration and there are other features like the technology used for printing. Earlier it was inkjet and impact printers that were popularly used. These days, the new technology is based on thermal printing.

The reason behind the popularity of thermal receipt printers is also that they are hassle free. The do not need ink refilling and do not have any ribbons. The paper used in these printers is chemically treated and heat is used to print on this paper. They are also faster than other types of printers and hence they are liked by most store owners. The only drawback of these receipts is that the text fades away in a few days. If you take an item that lasts for long and need to keep the bill safe for months, you will have to keep the receipt very carefully away from heat and light. These printers are recommended for sale of fast moving consumable goods (FMCG) because they do not last long.

Receipt printers work in combination with a software so you need to make sure that both are compatible. There are different ways you can connect your printer to the computer. Also, you can check the interface and see whether you are comfortable working with it. Talk to a professional and see whether you have all the necessary drivers etc and if you don’t will you have to purchase them etc. With the right tools you can definitely develop a profitable business that also helps people.

Irvine Dermatology Facility at Cutting Edge of Skin Care

Irvine Dermatology Facility at Cutting Edge of Skin Care

Dr. Charles R. Sexton, M.D. is very enthusiastic about the recent opening of his state-of-the-art dermatology facility in the newly constructed Spectrum Medical Plaza near Irvine Regional Hospital.

“I am having a fantastic time seeing my patients in a comfortable, stress-free environment. It allows me to address all of their dermatology concerns without the restrictions of managed care.”

Dr. Sexton, a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, has been treating patients in the Southern California area for the past 12 years.

He arrived in the San Diego area after finishing his residency at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, where the dermatology program offered a broad array of training in his field. This included cutting-edge cosmetic technologies, as well as subspecialty training in the surgical and pathology disciplines.

“As a tertiary referral center, I was exposed to interesting and diverse patients from all over the region, country, and even the world,” Dr. Sexton said.

It wasn’t unusual for his patient list to include United States senators, professional athletes or foreign diplomats on any given day.

“I think the best part of my training was that, in addition to the common diseases, I was exposed to many skin disorders that most people only get to read about due to their extremely rare incidence.”

He further honed his cosmetic skills by associating with a wellestablished cosmetic dermatology practice his first year after residency.

“The past decade has seen this aspect of dermatology explode with new choices for reversing sun- and age-related skin damage.

“My patients want to know what is new, available, safe and, most of all, effective. They also keep the emphasis on ease of recovery, so that they can achieve these results during their usual busy routines.”

Currently, Dr. Sexton’s most popular procedure is the Pro-lite facial, a form of intense pulsedlight therapy, or IPL.

“The IPL is a good example of patient-demand-driven technology. It is a quick and relatively painless procedure that is so minimally invasive that patients can re-apply their makeup in my office after the session is over. As a result, they can return to work the same day.”

Dr. Sexton has found this treatment effective for the most common complaint in the areas of the face, neck, chest and hands – namely, that of red and brown discolorations.

Rosacea and sun damage top the list of causes of these imperfections. However, Dr. Sexton has also had success with related disorders such as stretch marks, enlarged pores, acne scarring and wrinkles.

“Further studies are needed to verify the extent of this and other pending technologies’ effectiveness, but there seems to be no end in sight for the demand for skin rejuvenation,” Dr. Sexton said.

A large portion of his practice is devoted to general dermatology, and Dr. Sexton estimates that he has had more than 50,000 patient encounters, with people afflicted by problems from the routine to the exotic.

“I enjoy the detective work associated with skin disorders because, in reality, the skin can only manifest disease in a finite number of ways,” Dr. Sexton said.

“It is my privilege to collect the important historical data from the patient and then order the appropriate tests in order to distinguish one from the other, as there are literally thousands of different skin diseases.

“Helping people with these problems is truly a rewarding experience.

“It is nice to be involved with a specialty that allows me to see a 2-month-old in one room followed by an octogenarian in the next. Naturally, the problems and challenges will be different, and this allows me to keep my clinical skills sharp.”

Dr. Sexton also enjoys academic pursuits and has contributed numerous articles to the peerreviewed scientific literature as well as book chapters for a plastic-surgery text.

He has trained residents from the University of California at San Diego and at Irvine, and he currently is on staff at Hoag and Irvine Regional hospitals.

“At the Spectrum Medical Plaza, I have created a longsought personal and professional goal, and I look forward to helping people in the area for many years to come.”

If you have skin concerns, visit Dr. Sexton’s office at 15825 Laguna Canyon Road, Suite 203, in Irvine.

The phone number is 949-679-6900, and he can be seen from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. His Web site is www.drsexton.net

Dr. Charles Sexton,a Board Certified Dermatologist, has been practicing general and cosmetic dermatology in the Irvine, Laguna Beach, and Orange County, California area for the past 10 years. Offering Botox, Restylane, and IPL, Dr. Sexton has been treating patients throughout the Southern California area for over 18 years.

Insert Coin A Vending Machine Legacy of Innovation

Insert Coin A Vending Machine Legacy of Innovation

The vending machine industry is booming. Every day millions of coins are inserted into soda, snack and candy machines. But Michael Burnett and Jeffrey Marsh have discovered the formula for the most durable, best-looking and most profitable vending machines on the market. Their innovations resulted in 1.800.VENDING, a company that has changed the face of the vending machine industry.

The Search for a Better Vending Machine

Burnett and Marsh came into vending in 1999. They spent years researching the most popular vending machines on the market, but every system they studied had terrible flaws. Some machines had plastic coin mechanisms that frequently broke down. Other machines had cheap locks and were constantly being broken into. Soda machines had high maintenance costs, and the money coming in barely covered the cost of restocking the machines in addition to paying high lease fees.

So Marsh and Burnett came up with something better. After picking apart all those different vending machines over the years, they knew every flaw and every benefit to each kind of machine. Armed with that information, they began a year-long process of designing, testing and manufacturing their revolutionary vending machine by 1.800.VENDING.

A Superior Machine is Born

Burnett and Marsh looked at three key factors when they began to design their vending machine: durability, appearance and profitability. Since maintenance costs were such an expensive part of other vending machines, Burnett and Marsh wanted their machine to have durable, high-quality parts both inside and out. From the steel anti-jam coin mechanism to the all-metal heavy-duty hopper and shatterproof polycarbonate canisters, the 1.800.VENDING machine is tamperproof and virtually indestructible. The lid and cash drawer are equipped with a recessed “bullet-lock” security system, and each machine is supplied with a removable sun shield to protect candy in vending machines placed near windows.

Burnett and Marsh know that the appearance of a vending machine can have just as much impact on potential customers as the products offered inside. They designed their vending machines to look sophisticated and professional – to show off their products in the best possible light. The 1.800.VENDING machine is offered in 17 color combinations. Vending machine owners also have a choice of matching metal stands or a pine wood stand – in addition to optional spill trays.

By creating durable and attractive machines, Burnett and Marsh had already offered a higher profit margin by lowering maintenance costs and ensuring more profitable locations can be secured. Then they took it a step further.

Interchanging the Face of Vending

Burnett and Marsh became the most innovative men in the vending industry through one simple idea: shatterproof polycarbonate interchangeable canisters. By creating a system of identical canisters that can be filled with a wide selection of products and switched out in a matter of seconds, Burnett and Marsh created an easy way to boost profits that is changing the face of the vending machine industry. The interchangeable canister system eliminates the messy and time-consuming process of refilling vending machines from bags of candy. And with 1.800.VENDING machine’s divided cash drawer, it’s become easy to track the profits from each canister of product. Vending machine owners can use that information to stock each machine with the most profitable combination for any location.

The innovations of Burnett and Marsh have made 1.800.VENDING a world leader in the vending machine industry. Their company is one of the few vending machine manufacturers to have no complaints with the Better Business Bureau or any government office. Add to that their 100 percent Lifetime Warranty on every part of their vending machines and their superior design, the 1.800.VENDING founders have created a legacy any other vending machine manufacturer would be hard pressed to match.

More information about the vending machine innovations developed by Mike Burnett and Jeff Marsh, including a side-by-side comparison with the five most popular vending machines on the market, is available at www.1800vending.com.

The Function of a Balance Sheet

The Function of a Balance Sheet

Business Web Directories

The balance sheet is important to business operations in general. It provides a snapshot of what the company owns and what they owe to outside sources. The balance sheet is also known as a profit and loss account. By either name, this special form of financial statement provides great insight into an organization’s holdings.

Breaking Down the Balance Sheet

To clarify, a balance sheet shows how much money the organization has, how much property they own, and most importantly, how much money they owe. This is beneficial for outside sources to view – bankers, investors, and even potential creditors.

The balance sheet is broken down into several sections. Each section is grouped by liquidity – that is, how easily the particular asset can be converted into cash. The first section is short term assets. Within this category, cash is listed first, followed by near cash assets. Near cash assets are assets that can be easily converted into cash. Accounts receivable, money that people owe the organization, is also listed in this category.

The next category is the long term assets. These would include equipment, property, and buildings, along with long term accounts receivable. Generally, long term assets are assets that cannot be easily converted to cash within a year’s time.

After long term assets comes the liabilities category. This category is also divided into short and long term – that is, short and long term liabilities. In this case, time is generally defined in years – less than a year for short term, and more than a year for long term.

Short term liabilities would include items such as mortgage payments for the next year, along with utilities and equipment leases. In addition, short term liabilities include employee wages, usually listed as wages payable. Long term liabilities would include items such as the remainder of the mortgage for future years, along with equipment leases. Items here overlap, as time is the separator, not the specific item.

Uses of the Balance Sheet

The balance sheet is used internally to gain insight into what the company has available at a certain point in time. Potential creditors to use a company’s balance sheet to determine the cash to debt ratio, which would in turn inform them how much risk is involved in lending. Investors can use a company’s balance sheet to judge risk as well. For example, if a company is cash heavy or cash light, this could be an indicator of problems within the company. Size of the balance sheet is also an important factor in determining corporate health. If the balance sheet is large, this is an indicator of lots of activity, which may indicate positive growth. On the other hand, if the balance sheet is small, it may mean that the company is growing stagnant.

Flow and Format of Balance Sheets

The balance sheet is laid out in a specific order for a number of reasons. The first reason is GAAP, or Generally Acceptable Accounting Practices. It is a guideline used by all accountants to formalize the statements and keep communication standardized. If the company is also publicly traded, then the format of the balance sheet is required by the SEC, the Securities and Exchange Commission. The last reason relates to Sarbanes – Oxley, a set of accounting regulation regarding internal controls designed to minimize fraud. Due to recent corporate scandals, such as Enron and WorldCom, regulations have been stricter, requiring more detail.

In short, balance sheets provide insight into a company’s holdings for all to see. Balance sheets are a highly informative tool, often open for public viewing if the company is traded publicly. Without balance sheets, it becomes difficult to gain a clear insight into the health of the company.

ToolHound Equipment Inventory Management System Delivers Proven Return on Investment

ToolHound Equipment Inventory Management System Delivers Proven Return on Investment

ToolHound Inc., a global supplier of tool management systems, announced that a complete return on original investment (ROI) derived from using the ToolHound tool and equipment tracking system within the first year has been verified by years of customer testimonials as well as independent research studies.

Investment in a complete tool and equipment management system delivers prompt ROI due to improved productivity, efficient use of resources and real-time inventory visibility. The ability to ensure that the right tool is in the right place at all times is critical for any organization with a tool and equipment inventory, such as construction companies, maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) departments, and contracting firms.

The ToolHound Tool and Equipment Tracking system enables savings realized through time saved by tradesmen and tool crib personnel when tools are issued or returned, less time spent searching for lost or misplaced equipment, streamlining inventory reconciliation, reduction in tool losses and tool hoarding, and resale of obsolete or excessive equipment inventory.

In addition to multiple tool tracking customer testimonials regarding ROI, an independent research study by Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA) calculated real cost savings for two sample companies using ToolHound tool tracking:

Agrium Inc. is a leading producer of fertilizer and a major retail supplier of agricultural products and services in North America and Argentina. Agrium selected ToolHound to manage all personal protective equipment, maintenance consumables, and general safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, tools and equipment for the Environment, Health and Safety Department in their production plant in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, and Canada.

According to the report, within one year of adopting ToolHound, Agrium saved $92,000 due to reduced tool and equipment inventory loss, compared to the preceding 12 months.

AMECO, a unit of Fluor Corporation, is a worldwide leader in equipment management solutions, delivering operations fleet services, construction site services and equipment distribution to construction, mining, government and industrial markets throughout the Americas and South Africa, as well as supporting projects in other remote parts of the world.

In an evaluation of a typical project where AMECO employs the ToolHound system, the BSRIA report found that AMECO’s savings in man-hours during the first year amounted to nearly eight times the cost of their original investment in the tool management system.

“Construction companies and engineering contractors have to make huge investments in their equipment inventory,” said Dean Perry, president of ToolHound. “Managing that inventory with a robust, easy-to-use tool tracking system not only protects their capital assets; it also enables them to realize a sizeable return on investment by saving time and reducing replacement costs.”

ToolHound offers a comprehensive portfolio of tool and equipment management solutions including Cloud hosting and customer controlled hosting with ToolHound OnSite and SecureCrib featuring wireless, RFID and barcode technology.
